Maysaa Kassir

I paint not what I see, but what I feel.

I am a female artist, born in Beirut during the civil war. I lived to survive, had my struggles since childhood. My only dream was to find my inner peace. I moved to Africa in 1994, away from my motherland, I raised my family. For 16 years, I felt detached from my roots. In 2010 at age 34, I moved back to Lebanon. I had the urge and need to follow my heart and to dive in to my passion, I graduated with Master degree in Fine Arts- Lebanese University-2019, where I learnt how to express myself freely with no restriction to just one style, as my art can be dark and colorful. Both opposites bring out beautiful and extreme emotions and often lead to viewers able to relate on both ends. I participated in national and international exhibitions. My one true aim is to have my viewers unlock the ability to feel, and recognize emotions they can rarely touch. I aim to always give my pieces life and a personality of its own that suits each viewer as they please.
