Beirut after the rain, 2019

The Beirut I depicted in my paintings and photos is an environment to which I am used to and I do not want to lose. It is familiar to me, since my childhood. When I leave this environment for a while, I always come back to it with some unexplained nostalgia. I wanted to give a luminous and radiant character to this environment; that Lebanese sun that overwhelms the city every day. This is the environment towards which I feel authenticity, security and grin. These houses that we see in the painting depict the countenance of a welcoming soul, a mysterious attraction, spontaneity and touching character. It is the soul-filling song of the houses, a sunny afternoon poetry.
