Nour Najem

« I seek to bridge the gap between fashion, art, traditional craftsmanship, empowering women and sustainability »

My MAD Story

Nour Najem, born and raised in Beirut, graduated in fashion design from ESMOD Beirut in 2012. Throughout her career, she has interned at several Lebanese designers, such as Elie Saab, Rabih Kayrouz and Caroline Seikaly.

She launched her eponymous fashion label in the spring of 2013.

Nour addresses the modern and independent woman through fluid lines, luscious fabrics, and intricate details. She combines strict geometry and architecture all the while being anchored in her oriental heritage. She is inspired by a wide range of traditional artistry; artisanal crafts and the know-how that she applies to her designs.

In 2014, Nour launched the Kenzah foundation, in parallel to her luxury fashion brand. Through this NGO, she works with talented artisans, using overlooked craftsmanship with the hope of empowering women who come from underprivileged backgrounds.

In December 2014, Nour was selected by the STARCH foundation, the emerging talents incubator, to showcase and highlight her talent.
Since then she has participated in international trade fairs in Paris and Dubai, and is a 2017 laureate of contests such as the V&A Art Jameel prize, the Maison Mediterraneenne des métiers de la mode (MMMM) Marseille, the regional selection of the International Woolmark Prize as well as a finalist of the Vogue Arabia Fashion Prize.
Her passion for heritage and craftsmanship and skills as a multidisciplinary designer propelled her as the creative director of L’Artisan du Liban since September 2017.
